2022 Presidential Volunteer Service Award Recipient

As 2022 Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipient, I am grateful for the Houston Food Bank’s recognition of my 115 Volunteer Hours last year.

Also, this prestigious national program, affiliated with AmeriCorps and Points of Light, is my opportunity to appeal for national consideration to these sponsors.

Last is my appeal to both the Feeding America Network and to the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

My appeal is for national consideration of my promise to carry “to scale” the Vision of our “National Treasure”, Dr. Edgar Cahn.?Dr. Cahn died January 23, 2022.

Hi Brian,

On the 40th Anniversary, I left you a DVD, the movie “Pay it Forward”.

Now is the time for the Houston Food Bank to “Pay it Forward” in partnership with TimeBanks USA, https://timebanks.org/

For example, residents of Public Housing are required to do 8 hours community service per month, often at the Food Banks.

Paying it Forward means those volunteering at the Food Bank would earn hours in their TimeBanks to be paid back in their Public Housing communities.

Here is the example of TimeBanks & Baltimore Housing Authority with support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation which led U.S. HUD to make 8 hours a month National Public Housing Policy.
