My MACURISA Conference Experience
Had a great time at my first MACURISA Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. Jacqueline Nova, GISP and I led a half-day, pre-conference workshop on Enterprise GIS Best Practices: The Path to GIS Success.
The keynote from Leonard Brinson Jr. of South Jersey Industries was very inspiring. It's always impressive to hear from a CIO how #GIS can transform a business and deliver significant value.
I had the pleasure of presenting on Reimagining Public Works with GIS & The Geographic Approach. In that same session were two other impressive presentations. One from Megan Nehrbas & Michael Townshend on the Geospatial Professional Network (formerly URISA) ESIG Award-Winning project, the Sussex Co., DE & DelDOT Permit Tracker. Another from Rutzmoser Scott & Richard Citkowicz from SJI on their implementation of ArcGIS Monitor.
Closing out the conference for me was moderating a really fun GIS Manager Panel Discussion with a group of GIS rockstars: Amy Fread , Megan Nehrbas & Brian Embley . They shared some very valuable stories, best practices, and advice from lessons learned throughout their careers.
Thanks to Justin Cusick for the opportunity to support this wonderful event and community!
