2022 Hospitality trends: How your business can stay ahead of the game

The past 3 years have been tough for everyone, especially those in the hospitality sector, with uncertain times ahead it’s reassuring to look at projected figures, such as, the UK Café market is set to grow 14.4% in 2022 and branded coffee shops and cafes are expected to grow 25.3%. Costa coffee, a key client of ours is currently set to be in the lead by turnover, growing 9.2% year on year.

So what do these figures mean? Well, with bakeries and coffee shops popping up everywhere, there’s going to be stiff competition to rake in that revenue. Businesses in these sectors are going to need to stay ahead to get a piece of the pie. With a big focus on outdoor areas again this year within hospitality, ideally that’s where these businesses should be investing some of their money. The first hurdle is getting people to notice your business, and on a high street full of similar chain and independent outlets being noticed is what gets people in the door. If you’re a smaller business that hasn’t yet become a household name you may need a little extra effort to snag those customers. Having an attractive looking shop front is a good start, so what can you do to spruce up the front of your shop?

Firstly, outdoor furniture is always a good addition, it’s easier for people walking by to see that your business is open for trade, and it gives them the choice of sitting outside on a nice day. You can go wooden and classic like these sets we supply to Greggs

Or you can go a bit more modern and colourful like these chair and tables sets we supply to Coffee #1.

Secondly, you’re going to want to mark out your seating area, often the council require this, but it’s also a good reason to get some café barriers created in your brand style, or with your logo on. Like these ones we did for the Seahorse, in Dartmouth.?

They’re also another great advertising tool, especially if you choose a bright colour palette.

Lastly you’re going to want to wrap it all up with some shade for your customers. For this you could choose either an awning, like the ones we supply to Costa

Or perhaps a parasol suits your brand more, like these we supplied to Jane’s Pantry, an up and coming bakery located in Gloucestershire.
