2022 Highlights and Happy Holidays

2022 has been a busy and productive year for Hexitime. As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank all those who have supported each other through the platform.?

As testament to the generosity and culture of the Hexitime community that encourages members to ask for help, there has been a 6 time increase in accepted exchanges and to celebrate we would like to share our best highlights with you all:

  • Hexitime and The Shuri Network became the Q Exchange 2022 winners with the project "Bringing women of colour with digital skills into improvement activity"
  • We welcomed our Hexitime Board members. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to them for taking the time to enrich the work of Hexitime over the past few months.
  • We hit 2,500 members!?
  • We have had 2 great blogs written by Hexitime members Rebecca Myers (We can't help everybody, but everybody can help somebody) and Jessie Dhaliwal (We all have the ability to support one another no matter who you are)
  • We partnered with the University of Warwick to launch the first live My Innovative Collective platform showcasing how Hexitime's approach to timebanking, collaboration and skill exchange can be applied to sectors beyond healthcare.
  • And last but by no means least, the Hexitime team was able to meet virtually for our first Strategy Day!

We thank you all for showing that through giving, everyone gets a lot more back and we look forward to a great 2023!

Jonathan O'Reilly - Head of Quality Improvement, NHS Golden Jubilee

We all have skills and knowledge that can be shared without cost to anyone and making us stronger as a community. Our last guest blog for the year is from Jonathan O'Reilly, Head of Quality Improvement at NHS Golden Jubilee.?

Jonathan found himself dealing with imposter syndrome when he was originally offered this role, even though he was more than qualified. However, he had a secret weapon that would help him - Hexitime.?

Below is an excerpt from his blog post and you can read the full article here.

I first came across Hexitime through the Q community, and to be honest I lurked for a little bit. I was unsure how the concept of Hexitime could help me and I was a little cautious about jumping in.

One global pandemic later and that is no longer a concern.

Hexitime opened me up to a community and provided opportunities at a time when isolation was high on the radar of everyone working from home.

Since 2020, I have used Hexitime in my day job, at that time as a lead for mental health inpatient improvement across Scotland. I have utilised Hexitime to exchange with people who may be interested in coming on my podcast and sharing their story, and I have offered my knowledge and skills to others as a QI coach.

So, it was second nature to request help as I transitioned to my new job.
