2022 - First Week Updates

The time in the last week in December near New Year's is usually pretty slow for tech stuff. There's a lot going on in the world, but with some time off I don't have too much for this week. My birthday was January 1st and my wife's birthday is today, so I won't be around today.

I upgraded my server from Apache Pulsar 2.8.1 to Apache Pulsar 2.9.1 with no issues. We know more upgrades are coming this month, but it's a nice clean version to use.

I will be writing up a demo for the new Pulsar REST Client library.

So far looks like we are doing the meetup in person, if that changes to virtual I will let you know.

A quick thing to think about, message retention:

I had some fun exploring Apache Pulsar 2.9.1 events from Apache Spark 3.2.0.
