2022: After the Crash, My Car is Back on the Road and Going Full-Throttle!

2020 was the equivalent of me merrily driving on the motorway, humming away to the ABBA's 'Waterloo' blaring from my speakers, and... BAAM... getting hit by a 45 foot container truck which sent the car I'm in hurtling into the air and landing on its roof.

Coronavirus sent me spinning like a vehicle that had been bazooka'd by The 'A' Team, not only in terms of the impact on my health when, upon catching it, I found myself spending night after night frantically struggling to breath, but, more calamitously in terms of the long term impact, in all manner of ways in my personal and professional lives too.?

2021 wasn't a glorious year for me by any measure, but a darn sight better than 2020. I've been rescued from that metaphoric topsy-turvy car and the last twelve months have gradually seen the gashes that were embellishing my body heal.?

It has been the struggle of my life and, to slip away from the car crash analogy, some of you who are connected with me here on LinkedIn that I have worked with will know I've fought day and night to try to rescue the businesses I'm involved with, whether they are ones I own, I am invested in or that belong to?Azam Marketing's clients from the impact of each lockdown emanating from a new wave of Herr Corona. It's not been unusual, for instance, for me to spend eight or ten hours of a day chairing one crisis meeting after another via the application on my PC that I have grown to despise the most, Zoom.

However, I am relieved beyond belief that I have ended 2021 in a far better state that at any point since the pandemic took hold here in London in March 2020. On this 1st January I can confidently satisfy myself the many plates I have to keep spinning are pirouetting on the sturdiest poles I can possibly create for them and, barring COVID returning with a vengeance or another black swan event, I start the New Year feeling generally content and optimistic.

2022 will be a pivotal year for me and I have got a helluva lot of catching up to do in my personal life with matters that have had to be kept on hold to prioritise matters in the professional realm, but I will, Godwillingly, give the challenges my utmost energy. It won't be easy by any means as I will be playing in spheres that are far away from my fortes within the worlds of business, commerce and the like, but I need to become more than a one trick pony.

Before I bade you farewell, as we all wade across the river into the land known as "2022", for those of you who are of a religious disposition, may I selfishly request for the greatest gift you can ever give me: for you to remember me in your prayers. No matter what your faith, please ask for at least a few of the wishes I have been craving for, in many cases for quite a number of decades, to finally be realised in the year ahead. And even if you are not of such an inclination, you are as valued to me and perhaps you may consider sending some positive vibes my way.
