2021 - The year that made us stronger

2021 - The year that made us stronger

?? Hey Friends

Happy New Year!

It's been a big year for Neighbourhood.

This is our year in review and our thoughts for 2022!

?? Our impact in action?

Over the past 18 months, with our small but oh so mighty community, we have collectively started a movement, square in the face of adversity.

From central London to the heart of Manchester, from the outskirts of Newcastle to the coastal towns of Cornwall - We launched over 160 coworking spaces in 50 target neighbourhoods across 12 UK cities. We onboarded 130 Hosts, welcomed 100's of members, and together activated our community with over 40 events and programs.?These numbers are good, but it’s the results that count:

? Boosted employee happiness by ~30%

? Reduced employee loneliness by ~50%?

? Increased employee productivity by ~20%?

? Boosted Host revenue by ~30%

? Saved 2 tons of carbon emissions per employee pro rata

? Additional £8 daily spend per member per day in the local area

?? A hard-fought lesson

Building through the depths of the pandemic has taught us a lot. We built, measured, and learned on the go. Iterated our way through false starts, stumbles, and pivots, but what guided us through and what guided us out was our north star of belonging.

5 key learnings

  1. Crisis feeds focus?
  2. You can do well while doing good
  3. Work with the very best - you can do so much more with less
  4. To build community, you help people help each other.
  5. Have fun, every day. It’s where the magic happens!

?? Changing the way the world works for good

As we build out our roadmap we do so with a human centred approach, thoughtfully for the people and places that our technology serves.

“We shape our tools; thereafter our tools shape us.”?- Marshall McLuhan

In an age of concern over loneliness, and the decline of our civic fabric, we could be witnessing the revival of our communities and the regeneration of our high streets, enabled by a product that’s opening a whole new category.

Let’s make it count.

?? Looking back is looking forward?

Building an iconic 21st century brand takes time.

But like all great things, it starts with a single step. We now need the discipline to take the steps that follow with a laser-focus on our mission.

With 1 Billion remote workers across the world by 2035, and a positive correlation with workplace loneliness, our work today is more important than ever.?

? The journey of a thousand miles

As we launch out of beta and set sail to navigate the unchartered world of Web3, we do so guided by our beliefs and founding philosophy. Not focusing on how online?replaces?offline, but rather, where online?meets?offline.

One integrated digital and physical community built around a thing we lost but now is found.

That thing called belonging ??

2022 – With love, Let’s go!
