2021, A Year to Deliver
Consistent media conversations that empty shelves and product shortages might disrupt everyday life reinforced the crucial nature of logistics to the public in 2021 - something that those who work in the industry have always known. Supply chain moved to the forefront of conversations in the business community with countless earnings call references to operational impact, inventory, and expenses. The added stakes made last year an incredible opportunity for those working in transportation to step up and do their part. And the Arrive team did just that.
I appreciate how our industry has been in the spotlight mainly due to its impact. The work we do matters. Arrive’s North Star is simple. We deliver, so our customers can. We obsess over the needs of our customers - our shippers, our carriers, our people - and invest in providing them the best experience possible. Over the past year, from the executive team to our new hires, we aligned on providing our customers with a better freight experience. Countless initiatives all anchored in service and growth came together thanks to our team's relentless pursuit of perfection.
Revenue growth in a hot market is common, but the real sign of growth and commitment to service is shown in wallet share expansion and total volume shipped year over year. The providers that proved to be true partners were able to take on significant volume to support their customers, in the tightest capacity environment the industry has seen in years. Strategic partners are able to drive results because their team and technology are built to serve customers and carriers in any market.
Our team was agile. We worked remotely, we worked in-office, and due to our employees’ dedication at home, we rolled out a flexible work policy that aligned with our employees’ feedback that will be foundational to the Arrive work environment long-term. Our top priority has been the safety and stability of our employees and to ensure our partners continue to be serviced at the highest level. Teamwork and customer obsession drove results. With over 50% load growth and 100% revenue growth, we ended 2021 at $1.63 billion in revenue and 3,800 truckloads per day. At a time when providers were running away from contractual freight, we were proud to grow our contractual commitments from 45% to 55% of our total volume.? Our productivity metrics were up and to the right across the entire organization.? One specific metric, our carrier rep productivity, increased 40% in productivity per employee across all tenure bands due to the work and collaboration across our business and technology teams in 2021 alone. Additionally, I am proud of the awards our team has won which recognize our culture, but I am most proud of our internal engagement scores that have seen a 10% increase throughout the year, which we will continue to obsess over in 2022.

This past year has come and gone and the whole world is ready to get back to some form of normalcy. Although 2021 was an incredible year, we cannot wait for what is ahead.? We positioned the company financially last year to make significant investments in our pursuit of being a leading middle mile transportation provider in North America. We are going to put our heads down and continue to perfect our craft so that we can continue to provide the best experience for our customers, carriers and our employees.
We are excited to pursue incredible opportunities and I am confident we have the right team to reach our goals, however ambitious they may be. I look forward to the year ahead and sharing some of the exciting projects and initiatives we are doing here at Arrive along the way.?
