2021: What Happened at Green Flower This Year
As we close the door on 2021 and look ahead to the new year, we could not be more appreciative for the engagement and support you’ve shown Green Flower over the years as we’ve gone through the ups and downs of building a cannabis education company.?
The good news is that 2021 was a time of tremendous growth, innovation, and impact for Green Flower, and I’d like to share a few of the most important highlights with you!
Introducing The GF Institute
?This fall, Green Flower launched?GF Institute (GFI), an industry-transforming credential program that revolutionizes how companies across the cannabis industry approach the training and development of their workforce.
We know that the cannabis industry is growing at an enormous rate—sales increased 67% to a total of $61 billion in 2020—which in turn generates huge demand for skilled cannabis talent as many brands stretch to meet aggressive competitive growth targets.?
Much of the recruited talent to this industry, however, has little to no pre-existing, formalized cannabis experience or knowledge—leading to massive issues with employee retention and turnover.
With this in mind, we worked with the industry's leading companies and subject matter experts to create 100% online, outcome-driven training courses consisting of written, audio-visual, and interactive content tailored specifically to each cannabis-industry job category.?
Three independent Steering Committees, consisting of more than 30 of the cannabis industry's leading companies and voices, have validated and approved the program's overall learning outcomes that directly and strategically address the shortfalls of cannabis education in our industry.
You can learn more about GFI here.
The Growth Of Cannabis In Higher Education
?GFI is one way that Green Flower has addressed the people problems in cannabis. Another is?via our ever-expanding University Partnerships.?
?We are closing 2021 with cannabis education programs at 14 reputable universities, including game-changing launches this year with major institutions including the?University of Arizona Continuing and Professional Education,?University of Nevada, Reno, and?University of New Mexico Continuing Education.
?Whether students already work in the industry and want to level-up their job skills, or are looking to transition into a cannabis career, these programs are helping them gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in our rapidly-evolving industry.?
?With several more major universities set to launch these online cannabis certificate programs in the first quarter of 2022—and multiple community colleges coming onboard with Green Flower powering their workforce development certificate programs—more students than ever will have access to the education they need to have an advantage in the highly competitive cannabis job market.

Ganjier: The Cannabis Sommelier Certification – Becomes A New Industry Standard
?Our cannabis sommelier certification program,?Ganjier, kicked into high gear in 2021, selling out the entire class in just a few weeks, and certifying an army of well-trained professionals who seek to elevate the quality and service in our industry.
And the truth is, there’s never been a more important time to have Certified Ganjiers out in the marketplace.?
With a diverse new array of products and applications hitting shelves, and a void of knowledge and a lack of sophistication from professionals when it comes to quality, flavor, understanding and effect profiles, our aim is to establish an entirely new class of cannabis professionals,?trained and certified as “a master of cannabis service”.
The 2022 class will grow this army significantly as Ganjiers in training take online courses, participate in in-person classes and assessments, and graduate to take their rightful place as a Certified Ganjier.?
Best of all, 2022 Ganjier Certification?registration is open now, and you’re encouraged to sign up immediately as spots are filling up very quickly.
Looking Forward
?2022 promises to be a year of incredible growth for Green Flower as the cannabis industry continues to embrace the critical need for education among all levels of the industry.?
?We have several transformational initiatives set to launch in the first quarter of the new year, and we want you to be the first to know about them!?
?To that end, we have committed to sending you a regular, biweekly newsletter with the latest news, updates, and announcements about all things happening at Green Flower universe, and of course, how you can participate moving forward.
?Thank you again for your continued energy, support, and inspiration! We have a big vision for how education can positively shape the cannabis industry for years to come, and we’re grateful to include you in this amazing journey.
Much love,
