I've renamed this newsletter from "String's Theory" to "String's Speed" - this year is going lighting speed and sharing the latest trends and tactics to help you stand out.
Let me (re)introduce myself real quick; my name is String. I live in the future called Melbourne, Australia. It's 19 hours ahead of San Francisco. I'm a 4x LinkedIn's Top Voice and a creative futurist.
As a creative futurist, I generate strategic and innovative methods to influence leaders to be authentic digital storytellers and community leaders.
Simple translation: I help entrepreneurs, business leaders, and digital influencers leverage digital channels to grow their LinkedIn presence, grow communities, and develop sustainable online business. And be on-trend!

Every year I set a theme
Instead of a new year's resolution, I focus on picking a theme that enables me to be proactive.
No, last year's theme wasn't fried chicken. In 2020, the theme was "focus".
I use the time to focus on product-market-fit. I used my creativity to understand how to develop a better product. I created digital courses, video challenges, grew communities on different platforms like Discord and Facebook Groups.
This year's theme is "community"
It's easy to confuse audience with community.
Audience is a passive engagement that "follows" your content. While a community is on the same mission and highly engaged.
Audience consumes. Community engages with one another.
Audience is passive.Community is active.
As you can tell, I'm bullish on the concept of community.

The FOMO called Clubhouse
As soon as I focused on word community, the universe rewarded me with Clubhouse. The best way to describe Clubhouse - it's a SXSW vibe with audio only.
The last week, I've been going on a deep dive to broaden my community-network. I met amazing minds and it reminded me of what is required to be a worthwhile community leader.
Clubhouse attracts a lot of egos, but it highlights those who have high EQ and how they are lifting the community too.
The next article I'll be writing will be about how to use Clubhouse to build your brand. It's going to be released this week to honour "String's Speed"

A good hack to get in is the backdoor access. At the moment, it's an invite-only for iPhone users. But a way to bypass the invite is to put your name on the waiting list. Then making sure your friend inside Clubhouse adds you in (make sure your number is their phonebook, this part is important).

4 年Love the new branding String - and look forward to your clubhouse insights. I'm on there @Ninachristian and it's my first day back on deck for 2021 so in the coming weeks I'll be mulling over "how" I plan to use it. I LOVE the concept of audio and networking, it's brilliant, but that said I don't intend to spend time on any platform that doesn't directly align with my business goals. And given it's not a "searchable" platform like some others, one needs to invest time wisely for sure, but for relationship building and sharing expertise - it's gonna be amazing :-)

I'm on Clubhouse (@mdhogan) and Ive attended several of the LinkedIn Mastery sessions, including yesterday's on newsletters, posts, etc. I can't wait to hear you speak on a Mastery session dedicated to videos.
