2021 Reflections

2021 Reflections

As we wrap up 2021, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my Goldman Sachs colleagues for their outstanding work and dedication to the firm.?I know that it continues to be challenging as we make our way through the pandemic —?it’s by no means a straight line.

During the holiday season, I like to reflect on what makes Goldman Sachs such an extraordinary organization. Each year I come back to this: it all comes down to our people and our culture.?We’ve stayed close to our clients and managed extraordinary volumes across our businesses. And the strength of our culture has been particularly striking as we continue to execute our strategy day after day.

I am deeply appreciative of all that our people do on behalf of the firm and our clients, and I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2022.

Thanks for sharing this! Loved this part: “it all comes down to our people and our culture. We’ve stayed close to our clients and managed extraordinary volumes across our businesses. And the strength of our culture has been particularly striking as we continue to execute our strategy day after day.” Thanks for writing the 2021 reflections! I’m looking forward to an optimistic 2022! Happy new year and happy holidays!

Great read! Indeed, life is short and not a straight line. I love that, that's the reality of things. A lot of people never realize this truth, but the truth is: Life does get it wrong. There are good men who lose. There are winners who make mistakes. You do not always get what you want, or deserve. I've thought about this many times since and concluded that life is very much like being on a train hurtling through the night, except we are all on the same train and can't get off and we don't know where it's going or why. We just have to ride along until it comes to an end. There are moments when everything goes wrong, but we will keep moving. That's the point. Thanks for this.

I appreciate at least that leaders of high caliber share or have their social media handlers share on platforms for all to absorb
