2021 Reflection

2021 Reflection

2021 has been an experience.

In January, I took a 12-month contract at a company that I have been a long-time consumer of - LinkedIn. As a Training Coordinator/Admin in a newly created position I was able to define the role and support a growing team of trainers. When I came onboard it was a team of 5 and as my contract now comes to a close - I am saying goodbye to a team of 18!

A few took on the brunt of the workload, but together we onboarded over 800 global team members this calendar year. I believe the previous year (with a smaller team) they only onboarded 80.

"Together we onboarded over 800 global team members this calendar year!"

I am proud to say that I kept control of the new hire tracking, internal communication, laptop delivery issues, and other training logistics for so many in that time period. Throughout the year, I was given many kudos for my work in support of my training team, but my defining moment has to be the successful handling of a routine internal audit of training records. Being able to produce training records in a nearly flawless fashion is directly attributed to my processes and procedures that were implemented.

This past year, I had the opportunity to mentor and assist this training team by taking on tasks so they could focus on their learners. Additionally, I took on long international hours at times to support other regions to provide coverage. This allowed the trainers to be able to take time off or finish up other training classes.

I say all of this not only to celebrate my successes, but to paint a picture of the impact that one individual can have on a group or entire department. I knew my work was appreciated, but as the end date of my contract quickly approaches I have been overwhelmed by the added connections my team has made for me and the LinkedIn Recommendations they have added to my profile.

Even though I only got to support this team for 1 year, I know that I have made connections that will last a career-time.
