2021: With a little help from my friends

2021: With a little help from my friends

A happier New Year?

A new year has a spellbinding quality that makes us search for the restart or kickstart button; for ourselves and our businesses. As they go, this is a weird one…

I don’t want to wallow in 2020, or indeed its continued awfulness, but it was and remains in 2021 utterly-shitty.

Over the past 12 months, people I love have overcome cancer, dealt with isolation, struggled with addiction and mental health; there have been deaths but no births. The distance between my parents and their grandchildren feels like it could be to the moon and I worry about them and miss them greatly.

Life’s little shit-show has, so far, been an education, and I have come to realise some of the things I otherwise take for granted. Pushed on by my partner in life Silje who has encouraged me to "share with others" and "get on with it"!

Some of these things that I too often take for granted, and have sustained my energy through 2020, are the inspiring conversations I'm fortunate enough to have with so many different people.

So, this year I’ve decided to record and share the experiences of passionate curiosity from people I know and love, colleagues and clients past and present, associates and friends.

People from the world of psychology and behaviour, leadership, design, art, venture capital & business, tech & innovation, social care, education & media, and other corners where great minds and hands are busy working.

Asking about their experiences, struggles, wins, and passions. Their vision for the future and what they're doing to get there.

…because (for some of us) there can be too much wallowing when there’s plenty to be inspired about and even more, to get on with that needs fixing.

I hope I can help you get by with a little help from my friends. I haven’t worked out the ‘how’ yet, the time and resources, format or medium, but I will!
