2021: Get Ready to Make Sacrifices.

2021: Get Ready to Make Sacrifices.

Just in case you did not see the earlier message, this is me wishing you a very Prosperous Year 2021; go out there, armed with the right mentality and knowledge and dominate!!

You know, while we were growing up back then, that is, for those who grew up around some parts of Africa where offering of sacrifices to gods are prevalent, you can wake up in the morning heading to work and see some calabash, with items like eggs, chicken parts, kolanuts, palm oil, etc. inside of it. These are made as a sacrifice to a god either as a fulfillment of an earlier promise made, or to provoke the gods into acting on their behalf.

Nowadays, such acts, though still existent, are no longer prevalent. But why do sacrifices matter? And are they still relevant in this generation?

I think yes. Here's why. Sacrifices are the foundation on which great men thrive. Greatness is secured on the altar of sacrifice. Show me a man whose altar is loaded with sacrifice and I will show you a man who is a voice to be listened to in his generation.

Last week, I had made a post on my WhatsApp status that "men don't ascend the hill (or position) of greatness by chance, but by a deliberate act of sacrifice". This generated some thoughts and reasons to elucidate further.

You remember back then in school, when the exam date has been fixed and as such you start avoiding parties, and restricting friends to enable you adequately prepare for the exams? Those were sacrifices you paid to graduate with a good grade.

I know a friend who got a job as a trainee and the remuneration was very poor, but he took the offer and remained, gained the necessary experience, got some contacts in his industry and got an amazing offer somewhere else. That is sacrifice.

Having to subject yourself to the unusual (or rather uncomfortable) to allow you attain a higher position; forgetting the temporal benefits available now for a long term gain. This is the mentality great men have.

I read the Book of Proverbs earlier and it stated that: "Some who are poor pretend to be rich; others who are rich pretend to be poor". Again this struck my mind as a mentality deficiency. Most great men I know hold a far higher priority. They are more concerned about taking decisions or investing in things that will yield a higher return in the future, unlike the poor who are concerned about impressing everyone around them now.

Sadio Mane was said to be using an iPhone 6, and he was been dragged on the Social media, but meanwhile, he is busy investing in his home country, in the lives and education of young people who before now might have a wasted life. Does it mean he cannot afford to get the latest iPhone product? He sure can! But for priorities!

That is not to say getting the latest iPhone sets one at a disadvantage or means one isn't serious with life. Not at all. However, the sacrifice mentality would not allow some folks such luxuries.

Bill Gates is alleged to read a book at least 1 hour before bedtime. That is sacrifice. Yours might not be before bedtime. It might not even be up to 1 hour daily. But what sacrifice are you ready to make?

Think about it. What are you ready to sacrifice this year to have a better life? At times it might be a friendship that you should sacrifice. It might be a relationship you should walk away from to save your sanity. Someone who consistently drags you down, or hold you behind. At other times, it might be a job you should quit to enable you focus on your business.

Whichever way it goes, and whatever decision you will be making this year, remember these words of Napoleon Hill:

"Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness."

Thank you for reading; I trust you got value.

Just to remind you that, I am sincerely rooting for you! The top is where you belong. It starts now!

I call you blessed. And guess what? I love you, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Prince this is very apt ??

True value Prince!! These words you speak are gems. For me its "Sacrifices are the foundation on which great men thrive. Greatness is secured on the altar of sacrifice", this is so true as the ultimate level of your success is equivalent to the level of your efforts/sacrifice.
