2021-done, Creativity and In-demand Skills and Some Exciting Personal News!
On Friday, we had the Obodo Town Hall, where we reflected on this year's results and shared our ambitions for next year. Key numbers:
Furthermore, I've moved up to the role of MD. ??
6 months in, I continue to believe in what we're doing here, the people we're doing it with and our mission, as we continue to launch 1000 start-up products into 2022.
So with that, here's my top 5 in #productdesign this week:
1. Webflow's Year in Review
It's been a great year for No-Code. Webflow shares its year in review with some exciting examples of creatives making magic on the web. Worth checking out!
2. The problem with internal design labs
The most significant distinction between internal and external design labs is: Who is working on it.
I've recently been asked for my advice around building a usability lab for students to learn how to understand users behaviour and how to validate ideas with them.
Problem is - I've never had that resource. I get to know users through the medium of the internet.

3. Creativity has a business ROI
Soft skills are not so soft. Actually, as I talk to more junior product and UI designers, personality, communication and working/learning fast are increasingly more valuable to me. I can teach you how to run a Design Sprint, but I won't teach you how to be yourself.
4. Low-code software can bridge the gap between data scientists and business units
No one in the C-suite cares which coding language is chosen by engineers and data scientists — until the decision affects the bottom line.
5. Comprehensive Anatomy of All Design Thinking Workshops
"All workshops are atomic — just like design systems. Anyone can easily grasp the nature of any complex workshop by learning its elementary parts and key principles."
This is also how I learn. Watch a YouTube video or read a short how-to, and I execute!
How do you like to learn?
That's it from me this week - please let me know if you enjoyed this issue!
