"Don't let where you are now, impact where you need to be or, what you will gain in the future."
Emotional Intelligence is applied to and in Everything that We Do…both unconsciously and consciously! I believe this and share this additional intelligence in my work whether it’s on my training days in 1:1's or group coaching sessions.
The lock-down has forced us to try things in new and creative ways whilst retaining the need to be impactful with each other, our audience and the topics that we connect together for in the virtual world with a limited amount of time to still do everything in!
Whilst we talk about a virtual audience I have felt the obvious need to create a connection through an impersonal computer screen because I’ve missed the void left by the physical human space that I have mostly been used to. I recognise that feelings and physical connections can get lost from screen to screen and whilst having the technical utility of Zoom and other similar platforms as a means of communicating I wanted to ask you the participants what you would prefer if you had a choice to join a conference – would you like to be there in person or would you like it to be held on a technical platform?
We are proud to be hosting the 10th Annual International Conference on Emotional Intelligence in here in the UK on the 18th and 19th March 2021 for the very first time, and we wanted your all-important opinion because it matters to us. We have considered going down the virtual route but, in all honesty, we’re all Zoomed and MS Teamed out but that’s us, what do you think?
We would like to go back to the face-2-face element, socially distanced of course, as we miss it terribly. We miss the physical presence, the subtleties of having conversations face-to-face, the smiles, the warmth of human connection. Don’t get us wrong, we’ve loved the fact that organisations have been able to mobilise their workforce to continue business as usual, we are one of these organisations, adapting to new practices and ways of working to ensure there is little or no service disruption and it has worked.
To us we appreciate the importance of balance in both worlds, but we would still like to hear from you, what are your thoughts around our dilemma, the conference will be going ahead, it is too important not to, so lets hear from you now!
