2021 Book List & Review
Here's the books I read this year, how I'd rate them on 1-5 stars, and a quick summary. What was your favorite book this year???
1- Atomic Habits by James Clear 4/5. This was 'preaching to the choir' for me, but nevertheless I enjoyed it and had some good takeaways as to how to set myself up for easier success when changing habits.
2- Instrument Rating Checkride Review by Darren Smith 3/5. Helped get back into instrument flying mindset.
3- Rogue Heroes by Ben MacIntyre 5/5. Incredible WW2 Book about the British Paratroopers and their daring heroics and fighting style that became the foundation of modern special forces units.
4- Total Forgiveness by RT Kendall 4/5. Good hard-to-swallow pills if you have some forgiveness you need to walk through in your life.
5- Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy 5/5. This was a re-read for me, but I always love it. Read it if you haven't. It's quick and powerful.
6- The Lifestyle Investor by Justin Donald 4/5. Absolutely up my alley as a small business investor. Definitely check out if you're thinking of buying small businesses.
7- Tribe of Millionaires by David Osborn 5/5. Another re-read. Always gives me a deep emotional experience. Not what you'd expect. An amazing modern parable about the importance of choosing wisely your circle of friends.
8- The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle 5/5. I'm going to have to read it again. Very deep. I need a lot of work in this- living in the present moment. Good philosophical stuff.

9- The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande 4/5. Well cited book showing the power of checklists in Aerospace and Medical fields and how they drastically reduce errors and how all industries can benefit from them.
10- Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill 5/5. Holy crap this is a book by Napoleon Hill I didn't even know existed... it was locked away for 80 years before his estate published it. Maybe his best work. Perfect message for today's era encouraging you to be a free thinker. Will be a repeat classic for me.
11- Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss 5/5. Great book on negotiating. I had been putting it off as I thought I knew a lot of these tactics... I didn't. They're really good and I'm going to have to keep reading and practicing this stuff. Masterful book full of stories and practical application.
12- Fix This Next by Mike Michalowicz 4/5. Pretttty good but I think re-covered ground that I'd read from his other books in the series, so I don't feel like I learned a lot of new stuff. Good starting point read for entrepreneurs that want to improve their business.
13- Strong Advice by Zuby 3/5. Good basic book on fitness/nutrition and getting started lifting. Quick read took me a day I think.
14- The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran 5/5. Totally re-shaped my philosophy on Goal Setting. Wish I would have read this years ago. If you're a highly-driven achiever you should read this one and take it to heart.
15- Riding Elevators Backwards by Larry Stevens 4/5. Written by a M&A master I look up to and have trained with. His Opus on relationship building in a purposeful manner. Well done Larry!
16- Miracle Morning Millionaires by Hal Elrod and David Osborn 5/5. I have read the first 'Miracle Morning' previously and needed a refresh so I read this variation. Covers much of the ground of the first but adds additional layers for wealth-building mindset. Solid book and working on applying it as we speak. Get help winning the morning.
17- The Carnivore Diet by Shawn Baker, MD 4/5. An ode to meat and how quality meat is a superfood and its tremendous health benefits and dispelling the myths of a meat-centered diet. A different perspective that I will likely experiment with and take lessons from.
