2021 - Best Moments of the year

The year 2021 was filled with success and new additions for the Scuderia 1918 team.

Daniel Deusser started the year with a series of placings at the Wellington WEF, in particular winning the CSI5* 1.55 class, the CSIO4* 1.60 class and the CSI5* 1.60 class riding Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z. Our most important news this year is that, in April, French champion rider Kevin Staut became a member of our team riding Scuderia 1918 Viking D'la Rousserie. In May the yearly international show at Piazza di Siena was very exciting for us with a second place in the Small Grand Prix for Lorenzo De Luca riding Scuderia 1918 Halifax Van Het Kluizebos.

The second half of the year was definitely very exciting for our team! In July Giulia Martinengo Marquet competed for the first time in the Master of Chantilly and was on the podium twice, once with Jotage B in the CSIYH1* 1.45 class and again with Calle Deluxe in the CSI5* 1.45 class.

Riding on the Australian eventing team, Kevin McNab and Scuderia 1918 Don Quidam won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games to then continue to win riding Cute Girl to victory in November in the 7-year-old’s Eventing World Championships in Le Lion d’Angers.

One of 2021’s additional important innovations, was certainly the Top Team competition in Verona. Consolidating its partnership with Fieracavalli, Scuderia 1918 launched a new format filled with excitement and very entertaining.

The year’s last events confirmed the team’s positive run with Giulia Martinengo Marquet doing extremely well during the last two weeks of the show in Valence where she was placed in a number of classes in particular with Elzas.

This exciting year ended with the Rolex IJRC Top Ten Final in Geneva, where Kevin Staut (who finished 4th) and Daniel Deusser (6th) marked the end of the 2021 sports season competing in this challenge between the world’s greatest riders.
