2020 Vision
Welcome to a new decade! It is hard to believe it is the year 2020! We finished last year with a message reminding us that others are critical to our success and should be appreciated, thanked, engaged, and supported. My vision for 2020 is that I would make that a reality every day throughout the year, at the workplace, in my home, and in my community.
That is only part of my vision for the future. I took some time over the holiday break to consider the year ahead and next decade and what I would like to acomplish in terms of my career, family, health, and character. What I decided is probably not very important to you, but considering the value of establishing a vision and linking specific goals to that vision for yourself is important. It has been said that your vision of where or who you want to be is the greatest asset you have. The character that supports that vision is probably more important, yet it is a good principle to reflect upon.
“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight, but no vision.” – Helen Keller
As you think about the year and decade ahead, I hope you will have clear vision for 2020 (pardon the pun). There will be things you cannot control, nor should you spend your time trying to control them, but you can plan to navigate through each encounter ahead. As Jimmy Dean once said, while you cannot change the wind, you can adjust your sails to reach your destination. I also hope that you will be able to quickly put into action the right efforts to start accomplishing your vision and goals beginning today. The next decade is full of opportunities and challenges for all of us. May we learn from the challenges while overcoming them and capture the opportunities while making those around us better.
“Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” – Japanese Proverb
I hope you have a great week and accomplish what you envision for 2020 and beyond!
Brad
