For the past 3 years, I've set the goal to finish 52 books throughout the calendar year. I'm pleased to share I finished 58 books this year, and because I know many folks in my network are also readers, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite titles with you!
This was my first year rating books immediately after finishing them on a scale from 1 to 5 stars, so here's my roundup of 5-star recipients. Interestingly, I read 50% fiction this year, but the bulk of my 5-stars are non-fiction. I'm going to be reflecting on that as I embark on my 2021 reading.
"Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth" by Rachel Maddow
"The Infinite Game" by Simon Sinek
"How We Fight for Our Lives: A Memoir" by Saeed Jones
"Know My Name: A Memoir" by Chanel Miller
"The Power of Moments: Why Certain Experiences Have Extraordinary Impact" by Chip Heath and Dan Heath
"Untamed" by Glennon Doyle
"Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women's Anger" by Rebecca Traister
"Daisy Jones and the Six" by Taylor Jenkins Reid
"The Dutch House" by Ann Patchett
"How to Be an Anti-Racist" by Ibram X. Kendi
"Leaders Eat Last: Why Some Teams Pull Together and Others Don't" by Simon Sinek
"White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism" by Robin DiAngelo
"Big Friendship: How We Keep Each Other Close" by Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman
"I Think You're Wrong (But I'm Listening): A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversations" by Sarah Stewart Holland Beth Silvers
"American Dirt" by Jeanine Cummins
What did you read that resonated with you this year? What's on your 2021 reading list? I'd love to add your picks to my list!
Happy New Year, and Happy Reading!

4 年Good stuff, Meagan! I think the most thought provoking book I read this year was “The Body Keeps The Score”. Definitely helped me better understand myself and others and why people behave the way they do.

4 年Meagan McDougall I have always been impressed with this goal and accomplishment of yours. I would love to consume that number! 5 of my favorites for 2020 are below. I am generally more of a listener, but I still count it:).. I think “Talking to Strangers” is my favorite of the year followed by “The Infinite Game”
