2020 sees the launch of a new initiative from our colleagues here at the Zinc Group in the form of a new volunteer-led Charity Committee from our dedicated staff across our two sites. In December 2019 we invited all our employees in both Glasgow and Stratford upon Avon to vote for their favourite charity, with a view to establishing a fundraising committee which will organise events throughout 2020 to raise money for our chosen charities.
We are very excited to announce that we are now able to name our 2020 charities:
Glasgow – CHAS – Children’s HospicesAcross Scotland
They are Children’s Hospices Across Scotland but most people know them as CHAS. For over twenty years they have been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support through their hospices, home care services and hospital presence.
Stratford upon Avon – Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance
The Air Ambulance Service operates the national Children’s Air Ambulance and the local Air Ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Their vision is clear. They want children to grow into adults, they want adults to live longer and they want bereavement through trauma to become rare. Each of their services works tirelessly to save lives and alleviate sickness, wherever and whenever possible
During 2020 our committee, based across our 2 offices, will work to organise a number of events aimed at raising both much needed funds as well as awareness for both of these great charities. If you want to get involved with sponsorship or just simply want to cheer our guys on, stay tuned for our first events which will be announced in February.
