[2020 Lessons] On Numbers, Thinking Big and You

[2020 Lessons] On Numbers, Thinking Big and You

It was a heck of a ride this year, wasn't it?

I still haven't processed a lot of it. But here are 3 lessons I have learned to never forget or ignore from 2020- the year we looked forward to and the year that changed a lot.

Lesson no. 1 - Numbers don't matter as much as we think they do.

Note to self:

Stop chasing numbers.

?? I don't know how much I weigh by the scale. Just that I feel so much more at peace in my body. (One of my New Year's resolutions for 2020 was to focus on health.)

?? I don't know how many books I read. Just that I feel peaceful and connected and energized every time I do. (One of my New Year's resolutions for 2020 was to read daily.)

?? I don't know how many new friends and connections I made. Just that I feel less isolated today than I did a year ago. (One of my New Year's resolutions for 2020 was to socialize more. LOL, we all know how that went.)

Do numbers matter as much as we think they do?

IMO numbers set milestones that are often dictated by other people. The collective.

7 figures in business. Zero figure body in existence. 100 books a year.

Instead, I have learned to focus on my experience through everything I do.

?? How do I feel while practicing yoga even if it's for 5 minutes?

?? How do I feel reading a book for a month- applying everything I can from it. Reflecting back on it. Making connections from it into the real world.

?? I've unlearned working by numbers. Chasing numbers. They don't mean anything.

Lesson no. 2 - No, you don't have to think so much bigger.

No, it's not on you to change the world.

?? It's on you to help others and serve others in all ways you can.

?? It's on you to contribute as and when you can.

?? It's on you to do the best you can.

I had this insight from my own experience and then also heard Quentin Allums talk about it recently (I don't remember where).

It was my ego that wanted me to change the world. It wasn't the divine.

It wasn't the guidance your divine self is sending you. Just your ego making noises and pumping you to stretch more than is needed. More than is practical.

?? Before thinking about the big leap that will make you known to the world, think about the small steps you can take to impact lives and businesses today.

Lesson no. 3 - You matter more than anything else. And everything you do can be and should be a reflection of who you are.

I enrolled in a business coaching program for the first time and this is the first lesson I learned (thank you, Michelle Stonhill)- you deserve to be happy through the process of running a business.

?? You deserve to feel aligned with what you're creating.

?? You deserve fulfillment through the process.

?? You're here to serve.

?? You can make anything happen.

Make sure your business doesn't make you miserable, because then what's the point?

You are a spiritual being with a lot of power and potential at your disposal. But you still need to work hard.

?? I had to unlearn working hard in the wrong direction and work hard in the right direction- toward meaningful impact.

--> What are some hard and some soft lessons this crazy year taught you?

I'd love to hear from you in the comments below!
