2020 JDRF Ride to fight T1D

Dear Colleagues,

I was debating whether to write this post, given the current environment, but I ultimately decided to because type 1 diabetes (T1D) unfortunately does not stop for anything, including recessions or pandemics. I know that this has been a difficult year for many people, but I hope you and your family are doing OK.

When my daughter was diagnosed with T1D in 2002, my family rose up and decided to do all we can to help find a cure and fund research. This meant that in 2016, I began riding 100 mile bike rides for JDRF. I've been training hard and plan to do another 100m ride this year, even without a JDRF organized event.

During these tough times, T1D treatment and management become even more difficult for many families because of insulin availability/cost and loss of income. It is with those families in mind that I gently ask you to consider donating to my JDRF Ride efforts as we raise funds to find a cure for this unrelenting disease.

No donation is too small. Every dollar you can give will truly make a difference to help fund integral T1D research. And I thank you so much for your consideration this year.

UPDATE: We did the ride - 105 miles! It was a great experience, and your support for JDRF will make it even more so!
