In 2020, I Want to Let Go so I May "Live" Rather than Just "Exist"
In 2020, I want to liberate myself. Be who I want to be - give meaning to my life, be a positive influence, "live" rather than "exist" and make a difference.
It is time for us to let go of the world that was - false prophets, fake people, wrong direction, mindless routines and loveless relationships.
Let go of things. Life is not about things. As we grow older, we replace things with people. Often, we do so when it is too late. Focus on the relationships in your life. Look at the people around you. Tell them how much you appreciate them.
Let go of excessive entertainment. To be entertained 24/7 is to pave a road made of poverty and emptiness. Replace it with learning, growing, experimenting, trying new things and meeting new people.
Let go of seeing life as a burden. Life is an adventure. Your purpose is to go out and live, to discover and to create. You must never be afraid of problems for they are opportunities for growth.
Let go of your job if it is killing you. The faceless corporate liars, thieves and ambassadors of greed don't even know you. But they are ruining your chances for a better life. You owe them nothing, but you owe yourself and your family everything. Get out.
Let go of your insecurities and lack of confidence. It's time for you to lift yourself up and start doing something you have not done - believing in yourself. You are as good as the next person. You can own a business, be a successful freelancer, and make your mark on this world if...you believe that you can. If you run your own business, you are more secure than any CEO of a major corporation.
Let go of people who drag you down. There is no room for negativity, bullying, gossip, disrespect and mistreatment. The world is filled with negativity. We do not need to add to it by nurturing toxic relationships. Leave those who poison your mind and show no empathy, support or reciprocal communication.
Let go of anger. Our anger is holding us back. Our petty grudges. Our criticism of others. Our anger at ourselves for not being who we think we should be. Wake up tomorrow in a state of neutrality. It will create the opening for self-love.
Let go of perpetual planning: Excessive planning is an excuse not to act. You've done your planning. Now make your move.
Let go of the past. The injustices you perceive to have happened many moons ago must not continue to hold you back. Release them. Free your mind so it may be populated with good intentions.
Let go of indifference. Violence in the news and society's caring deficit are making us indifferent to the pain around us. See the homeless as human. Be a friend to the friendless. Discover your compassion.
Let go of what others say and think. Nobody has the right to crush your dreams. Today's bold action, even if it makes you feel foolish, will create a tomorrow free of regret.
Let go of holding back love: We're afraid to say "I love you." What if the other person doesn't feel the same way? It doesn't matter. Say it for yourself. You are human. You need to love. That's not something to be ashamed of.
Let go.
There is only one person who is preventing you from creating more meaning in your life. That person looks at you each morning in the mirror.
Embrace the miracle that is you.
