2020 is here. Like a newborn it arrived with much promise and hope and limitless possibilities.
Yet the forces of division and conflict that have obviously been intensifying in years — mirrored in our own inner worlds — didn’t say bye-bye at 11:59pm last night.
There is no question the task before us is great, but I believe it is not insurmountable. As conscious women and men striving to uplift humanity and create a more perfect world than exists now, we have the opportunity -- no, the responsibility -- to facilitate the change to the new wherever we can.
Whatever our business is, whatever products or services we create and deliver, the forces of chaos will destroy our best efforts or we will rise above them with grace, equanimity and a shared vision of the betterment of our world.
If that sounds huge and grandiose I don't mean you should quit your day job that earns you what you need for family, savings, and future dreams, and dedicate yourself 24/7 to helping others while neglecting yourself. No way! It won't work. The world would just have one more burned out discouraged human. We've already got too many of those!
Especially, especially, the changes now need to start with us, focusing first on whatever ways we live stuck in the past, in whatever limiting attitudes and beliefs we hold about ourselves and about those close to us, in whatever ways we remain separate from those "not like us" and degrade their value in the world.
2020 -- ironic that the phrase itself means "clear vision". I believe that is what is being asked of us now.
To see clearly where we can grow in love, compassion, inner strength, and vitality.
To see clearly where we are as much a part of the "problem" as the other(s) we want to blame.
To see clearly that there is always a much bigger picture than the one our stressed mind and body can see.
These times are very confusing, very discouraging and very draining. Everyone is on edge. Personal relationships are being strained like never before as people realize their own lack of authenticity is holding them back and creating problems, not hiding them.
Love is the answer. It always is.
But not pie in the sky, idealistic, ungrounded love.
The courage of Love to change your reaction in the moment from anger to understanding.
The power of Love in dark moments to quiet a racing mind when worries and fears are the only reality you can see.
The tenderness of Love to feel the struggle and pain in another person, just like your own.
The wisdom of Love to know we will get through this .... together. Through the heart.
much Love to all on this first day of clear vision, 2020.

3 年Here I stand today, looking out into the wilderness of humanity – many of its souls, and thankfully so, uninterrupted and unspoiled by the specters of greed, avarice and diversionary tactic that has enslaved far too many leaders, lawmakers, politicians, bankers – those who hold higher position, and those who are supposed to set a greater standard…. I now turn to the High Renaissance – particularly, Florence Italy and its surrounding environs. It is there where I myself, had set foot a few years ago…. Ricky J. Fico www.beyondthebrokendoor.com
