2020 charity partner: The Emily Jordan Foundation

Every year we take the opportunity to select a charity to receive money raised from our weekly dress-down Fridays. The Emily Jordan Foundation, a local charity, has been chosen because of the excellent work they do in supporting people with disabilities develop skills for the manufacturing workplace.

ABOUT THE EMILY JORDAN FOUNDATION

Set up by Emily’s friends and family after Emily sadly passed away in 2008, The Emily Jordan Foundation (EJF) supports people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.

Emily, who understood the difficulties that people with disabilities face both socially and when trying to gain employment, helped to set up Spokes; a registered charity that aids young people with learning disabilities find employment. The development of The Emily Jordan Foundation was the next step in continuing her good work.

As a legacy to Emily, The Emily Jordan Foundation continues to fundraise, supporting the programmes 'Spokes' as well as 'Twigs' and 'Wood Works'; which provide opportunities for people with learning and physical disabilities to participate in a manufacturing environment to develop their skills in the workplace.

I am immensely proud of the team’s continual enthusiasm and dedication to help charities – not only supporting our own company initiatives, but also pursuing their own fund-raising activities. 

Last year alone Jason completed the Three Peaks Challenge, Lois cycled Palace to Palace - a 45 mile cycle from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, while Charles was the event promoter for Bare Bants comedy night.

‘Care’ and creating a caring environment is one of our core business values and our team really does embody this.
