Building A Connected Campus

“What high-performing companies should be striving to create: A great place for great people to do great work.” - Marilyn Carlson

A Brief History

Meetings. Events. Communities. Campus… oh my!

As a digital innovator, I've had my fair share of ideas, projects, and collaborations that are geared towards transforming business operations. With digital transformation leading business, the latest and greatest always seems to be just around the corner...

A few years ago, the CXApp team pioneered the way businesses communicate with their customers for the Executive Briefing and Corporate Meeting space. Powered by a mobile-first mindset, we developed a system for perpetual engagement with customers, paving the way for how key personnel and subject matter experts can stay better connected through a one-app solution. Implementation began with high-profile technology customers such as Aruba, Avaya, Google, Juniper, HPE, Symantec and other large enterprises that have a global reach.

The way these trend-setting companies use mobile apps on-site and, in customer meetings, and at off-site events set the bar for leading by example through innovative, next-generation technology that provides more immersive experiences.

The more we dove into what it means to have an immersive ‘on-site experience’, the more we uncovered other ways in which large public venues (LPVs) like a corporate campus service in-person interactions. The need for something much bigger, and more comprehensive for the entire venue (not just the EBC) became apparent.

Building a better Workplace Experience

What we’re talking about is the future of work - and yes, there’s an app for that!

Typically, in the corporate world, or venue management, you see different departments and teams using different tools to accomplish their day to day tasks and activities. Often times these systems don’t connect or talk to each other, as such the fluidity of how business should operate becomes strained.

The CXApp Campus solution consolidates disconnected business systems, giving way to smarter, data-driven workplace decisions across your campus. Anytime, anywhere, on-demand access delivers relevant content, multi-way communications, and contextual pathways that only an innovative mobile app platform can provide.

This has opened the door for SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions. The epitome of convenience and cost-efficiency for organizations. Built on a multi-tenant architecture, operations and IT personnel that are responsible for software and venue management tools, can tap into the best resources available through a centralized administration.

Here are key benefits related to this type of SaaS approach:

  1. Digitize your campus and drive efficiency
  2. Streamline facilities management
  3. Provide better on-site experiences
  4. Drive productivity with location intelligence
  5. Deliver real-time campus info
  6. End-to-end digital experience
  7. Enhance campus safety

Really it’s all about creating a more connected campus experience for people, places, and things. Yes, things, IoT plays a huge factor in today’s modern workplace. Devices talk to other devices, and devices talk to people (or vice versa). It’s all part of the same digital evolution of physical spaces.

An Intelligent Ecosystem of Partners

Workplace tools need to cover all facilities, services, technologies, and processes that makeup operations. But it can’t be done alone.

Comprehensive end-to-end digital experiences likely encompass a network of software systems that communicate and connect with each other for a holistic solution. And let’s face it user needs change constantly, there’s always someone or some company out there looking to meet those needs face. I say… welcome!

For the CXApp Campus, we’ve built an intelligent ecosystem of partners to make our solution the central hub for communications:

Verticals of Interest

I think sometimes, the corporate campus is a bit easier to understand because I live and work in Silicon Valley and there are 53 of the Fortune 500 companies in the state of California. So it’s a logical jump.

But it’s not just about corporate.

Essentially, when we talk about ‘campus’, we mean any LPV. Any business running a huge set of operations with frequent visitors, travelers, workers, coming in and out of the business every single day (aka high density areas).

Just think about the usability a connected mobile app experience will have across different industries.

  • Corporate Campus Today's corporate campus is filled with multiple buildings, conference rooms and remote virtual desks. One app that brings this all together with intuitive news content that brings employees together only increases engagement and speed of communication.
  • Higher Education The entire student body is craving for a solution that makes their university life become more integrated with how they actually live day to day - mobile, social, smart.
  • Healthcare Hospitals and medical centers use indoor location services for business-critical egress/ingress and can adopt these technologies to streamline visitor and patient care.
  • Sports & Entertainment The fan experience is rapidly changing, accounting for more next-gen solutions that transform in-venue interactions and transactions.
  • Travel & Transportation Hubs for 1,000s of visitors daily/hourly - passengers and travelers absolutely need to be informed and up to date with all things travel related as it directly impacts their schedule at a moments notice.
  • And more...

Digital enablement allows these types of LPVs to re-invent themselves through innovate experiences across mobile, social, cloud, and big data touchpoints. We’re aiming to elevate businesses of every size.
