2019 Volume 2 (abridged)
I was hunting around for something that would be a good Volume 2 view of 2019 and it would seem that quite a lot has happened already! And I am not just talking about Theresa May v everyone, Trump v Mexican walls (and v Congress & Russia & many other things) and Putin v nukes #WW3.
In our world, we see that Metro Bank has just been hacked, Huawei being sued by the USA for all sorts of supposed nefarious acts of espionage and the like, all the way through to Vodafone changing the global telecomms playing field through it new €550m 8year venture with IBM, named Cirrus.
The new venture shows how all companies, irrespective of size, are looking to drive change in a competitive marketplace in order to drive new technology, new solutions and, ultimately, increase shareholder value. From the perspective of customers, the business benefits of the new venture will be incalculable - true borderless IT & Connectivity solutions offering speed, simplicity, agility, co-creation and things as-yet unthought of.
Vodafone x IBM x Apple x AWS, for example - the new venture offers a power of partnership that enterprises simply will not find anywhere else, limited only by their imagination.
Interestingly, Vodafone has released its own 2019 view and, for the sake of brevity just now, I attach this. It is an impeccable piece of work and interesting reading; some you will agree with, some you won't. There may be things missing or things you hadn't even considered. It is definitely worth the read if you are an executive of any kind, or a sales guy looking for an angle, or a department head wondering where the next projects will be driven from. Download and enjoy.
2019 is already quite exciting. Ready?
