2019 Lagos International Badminton Classics: Misha rout Sergery to claim the men's singles final ticket
It was an easy ride for 4th-time finalist, Misha Zilberman (ISR) to defeat Surgery Durant (RUS) 2-0 to claim the men's singles final ticket at the ongoing Lagos International Badminton Classics.
Though, Misha started off on low key but returned into the game with a bang leaving Sergey struggling behind till the end of the game.
Briefing herosports.com.ng he revealed that he just played his normal game but later discovered that he had to up his game which did with a better result.
"Initially, I lost my focus just playing my game but realized I have to change my style of play to enable me to finish up the game with a better result which I did not hesitate to do and I see this as a better result for me".
"Though I won't rule out the fact that he's a good player too, he did his best but I'm far better than him".
Misha, who is 44th in the Badminton world ranking further disclosed that he loves coming to Africa to improve on his ranking and this will be his 4th time he will be rumbling to the finals of Lagos International Badminton classic.
However, the men's singles defending champion, Misha did not miss the admiration of the teeming fans who cheered him up during the game thereby winning the game with a positive spirit.
The indoor hall of Molade Okoya Thomas, Teslim Balogun, Surulere, Lagos was nothing a beehive as Badminton enthusiasts stormed the venue to catch the glimpse of the annual ritual that brought players from 29 countries of the world.
In other matches played, the duo of Ramachandran Shlok and Rutaparna (IND) beat Doha Hany and Adam Hatem (2-0) in the Mixed Double to book the ticket for the final of the Lagos International Badminton Classic.
Meanwhile, the Americans were not that lucky either as Arjun M.R and Maneeshak K (IND) trounced Vinson Chu and Brenna Chi (USA) 2-0 in a tension soak game
