2019 EDGEsport Awards Nominations Announced

AWARDS SHOW TO AIR AROUND THE WORLD DECEMBER 6TH

EDGEsport, IMG’s 24/7 action sports and lifestyle channel, will broadcast the 2nd Annual EDGEsport Awards Show on December 6th, hosted by Ebony Amoroso and John Grabowski. During the Awards show, EDGEsport will give out five awards to athletes that have excelled in 2019, as well as an award for the Event of the Year.

The EDGEsport Awards debuted in 2018, acknowledging athletes in the following categories: Women’s Athlete of the Year, Men’s Athlete of the Year and Comeback Athlete of the Year. In 2019, new categories have been added, including “Newcomer of the Year” acknowledging athletes who burst onto the scene in 2019, and “Event of the Year” for excellence in action sports event organisation and promotion.

The show will also give out the “Moment of the Year” Award, decided via a fan vote on Instagram and Facebook. Since October, fans have been voting for their Best Moment in the following categories: Adventure, Motor, BMX, Snow, Surf, MTB and Skate. The Awards Show in December will see the Best Moment from all categories announced.

The EDGEsport Awards launched in 2018 on the channel’s social media platforms. Three winning athletes were recognised for their sporting achievements in 2018: Caroline Buchanan, won Comeback Athlete of the Year, Hannah Roberts, won Women’s Athlete of the Year, and Nicholi Rogatkin, won Men’s Athlete of the Year.
