2019 and beyond

I was sick a while back. Bad sinus infection aka Man Flu.

When visiting my doctor; I asked if people mentioned what they found on Google. Looking for a cure while they are sick. He said, a lot! Like, all the time.

Scary thing is not all the information is correct. 

The market is informed. They are more sophisticated than ever before. They have access to information. Even if the information is wrong.

So what does that mean to you? Each market is at a different level of sophistication. Some are more advanced than others.

Long ago some ads worked great. Now; people ignore those ads. They scroll past. They stopped working.

Some markets have gone global. In the past you knew about a local supplier; or someone in the next town. Today you can order directly from anywhere (you just need to know where to look).

20 years ago to find a property you had to drive around. You phoned an estate agent. They showed you 20 places. That took 2, maybe 3 days. You did not like any. You had to do this a couple of times before finding the right place. No wonder estate agents got paid that much. There was a lot of work involved.

Two weeks ago FNB updated their app to allow property buyers and sellers to talk directly to each other. The tool facilitates the transaction. Cutting out the estate agent. 

That brought about a big uproar in the industry. Thing is; they did it, someone else can also do it. The property market is now sophisticated enough to do this.

Do you see the change? From driving around for days; to going online and looking at thousands of options in hours; and doing the transaction with no human intervention.

The market grows up with tech. At some point they will be ready. This is speeding up. Radically. 

You have two options:

  1. Do what you have always done
  2. Get going with more advanced marketing (click here)

Einstein said it best. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
