2018 Reading List
Mentors have hammered into me since childhood that leaders are learners, leaders are readers and you can find mentors in even dead people who have wisdom left in pages of great books. I seek to read diversely, even seeking out authors I know I may fundamentally disagree with or who come from a worldview altogether foreign to my own, because even in disagreement there is learning opportunity.

What are your top reads of 2018 and why?
I find I still prefer to wrestle with good, old fashioned paper books so I can react to ideas in the margins...but I've also found great value in maximizing drive times with Audible and a great way to stay abreast of learning and "so what" insights from platforms like Readitfor.me

6 年My favorite books published this year are Principles by Ray Dalio (read the first part of the book where he describes HOW he came to his principles), Radical Candor by Kim Scott (because all leaders should learn the delicate dance of challenging directly and caring personally at the same time), and Cilantro Diaries by Lorenzo Gomez (which every recent or soon to be graduate should be forced to read).

6 年What are top picks you'd suggest, Steve Cunningham?
FIVE STAR after school youth classes and events. Including chess, fencing, STEM with LEGO bricks, sports and sewing.
6 年I loved Checklist Manifesto and refer to it all the time!
