2018 Loan Limits Increase

Fannie Mae has announced that the limit for conforming and high balance loans have increased to the following amounts effective January 1st, 2018.

The maximum loan limits will increase for loans to be acquired by Fannie Mae in 2018. Lender Letter LL-2017-10 confirms the general and high-cost area loan limits announced by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

• ·        The new base loan limit in most of the country will be $453,100 from $424,100. 
• o   All but 71 counties (or county equivalents) will see a loan limit increase. 
• ·        This represents a 6.8% increase over the 2017 limit.
• ·        The ceiling limit in most of the country will be $679,650.
