2018 Indian Mango Crop
An Early Overview
The following is collated from multiple sources of information and is consolidated into a general overview
Currently the expectation is that the Mango crops will be 15-20 days later than last year. Many trees are in flower at this time and some starting to set the bloom/bud. Weather conditions are favourable at this stage and the general views are that 2018 will be a reasonable crop
Due to the delays, Buyers should perhaps consider the extent of their current contract cover and maybe look at small additional purchases of 2017 crop product. The 2018 processing periods will probably be;
early May to early June for Alphonso - End July/early August for first deliveries into EU
early June onwards for Totapuri - Mid August onwards for first deliveries into EU**
** Any offers for prompt shipment/delivery will probably be 2017 crop product
2017 Carry over - there is some carry over of Totapuri products but limited Alphonso. Buyers should check quality of any AMP offered as much is considered to be a blend and may be affected in colour and consistency
