I was duly appointed as a marker for the 2016 (not 2017 as stated) National Senior Certificate Exams but were exposed to bureaucratic rudeness from officials during my marking stint. I decided to take the matter further. I have followed due processes and lines of communication and after six months of meetings and countless emails I have received a letter of apology from the Western Cape Education Department. Needless to say, I was not interested in assisting for 2017. WCED officials Mr Blackie Swart and Mr Adam Jantjies will definitely be more cautious in the future. And yes, the Minister of Education and the Head of Education were also made aware of these bunglers. Although I was promised remuneration I did not receive any and did not bother. The look on the faces of the officials - priceless!
