2018 Business Blast Off! 7 Steps to Take Right Now!

Not only is this time of year a great time to step back, reflect and plan for the upcoming year when it comes to our personal lives – it is also the perfect time to do the same for your business. Here are 7 things to ponder as you ready the business for a strong 2019.

1. Assess your key products or services.

Are the still aimed at the right market, ahead of the curve and relevant? Should they be tweaked or added to in order to keep you ahead of your competitors in the minds of your clients? Where do you need a reset?

2. Ask them.

This time of year you are talking to your clients to extend holiday wishes and New Year salutations. Why not ask them? People love to be asked for their opinion, so why not ask them what you can do to be better in 2019?

3. Sit back and observe.

It is easy to get buried in the details and day-to-day operations of your business. Take this time to look at what is happening in your field, the legal environment and with competitors. Map this over to your plans for the year and gauge the impact.

4. Talk to your Crew.

When everyone is feeling fresh, energized and renewed, use that opportunity to engage your team in designing a plan that not only builds on 2018, but includes those “wow” opportunities that can push your company to big things in 2019.

5. Look at your competitors.

Be sure to anticipate how their plans and actions will impact you this year. Small changes in customer and competitor activity can leave you behind if you don’t pay close attention.

6. Plan to make impact.

As our results improve, let’s be sure we are all looking at ways to give back through our communities, cities and around the world. Whether it is through time, effort or donations, having a plan to contribute for 2019 is so important.
