2017 : The year of supply chain revolution and evolution

During the 2016 LPI ranking, Cameroon was at the 148th position. LPI is an interactive tool put in place by the world bank to allow countries to benchmark with others in order to identify their weaknesses and opportunities in trade logistics so that they can react accordingly and improve their performances. The LPI is therefore based on six parameters: customs, infrastructures, institutional shipments, logistics competence, tracking and tracing, timeliness.

The first ten countries(Germany,Luxembourg,Sweden,Netherlands,Singapore,Belgium,Austria,United Kingdom, Hong Kong, China, United States) are those who have developped their infrastructures together with the logistic competencies. I want to emphasize on that, without competencies, good infrastructures can not be developped.These countries took time to put in place very strong logistic training education in all the fields(maritime,air,land) combined with wide supply chain education.

If you have qualified people and staff, they will now design required infrastructures and policies to boost the country LPI .

These countries have dedicated years in supply chain, transport, logistics trainings and education, they are not in good position by error. CilT and IIPMR education and certifications are well established in these countries; some of their government and private officials are IIPMR and CILT graduates.

So, it is not too late for us in Cameroon, we can still catch up and cover the gap with an opportunity to be trained here locally without going abroad in UK and USA, by sharing the knowledge of experts, specialists in transport, logistics, supply chain all over the world.
