Last year Nissan Sentra remain inferior while model remain quite popular in U.S. Nissan looks to be striving to determine that state with the beginning of the brand-new 2017 Sentra SR Turbo. Sentra SR comes with Juke’s 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder using direct injection system to produce a beefy 188 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm, which is 64 more horsepower and 52 lb-ft more torque than the 1.8-liter powerplant in the non-turbo 2017 Sentra SR.
Turbo comes with continuously variable automatic transmission as well manual transmission. That makes it the only Sentra version other than the compound S cut stage to offer a manual. We expect Turbo SR to clock less than 7 seconds for zero to 60 mph, though unsure till we test. The SR Turbo’s enhances are impalpable on the outside but careful under the skin.
Based on the SR cut stage, the Turbo gets large front brakes (11.7 inches versus 11.0), a strengthened cowl, front spring that are 10 percent immobile, and damping that is compact by 23 percent up front and 50 percent at the rear. The SR Turbo also merits from transformations to the electrically assisted power steering to give good feel on the highway, and both transmission have been pinched for SR Turbo duty. 17 inch wheels available for the non-turbo version.
