2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS450 getting power with 3 liter dual turbocharged V-6 to produce 362 horsepower at 6000 revs. and 369 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm paired with nine speed automatic transmission. Clocking 5.7 seconds to touch 60 mph from zero, EPA likely to remain 17/22 mpg city/highway rating. Coming with new 9G Tronic transmission where first seven gears sport shorter ratios than in old transmission. 2017 GLS450 is lighter by 207 pounds than 2015 GLS450. Two extra gears taller than seventh gear in old transmission provides better EPA rating. 9G Tronic behaves perfect even in Comfort mode, while in Sport mode seems eager in throttle booting. Touchpad controller operates with finger swipes and tapping like smartphone with COMAND infotainment display, COMAND menus along with knobs, steering wheels controls, voice commands.
