2016 [Mostly] Techy Holiday Gift Guide

I like gadgets, toys and generally cool tech gifts. I often get asked for ideas for these types of gifts by friends and colleagues, so here you go. Below are a list of things that have caught my eye whether for me or someone on my list.
Amazon Echo Dot: Succeeds last year's Amazon Echo. Very cool, cheap, and now integrates with a lot of the IoT world.
Bose Quiet Comfort 35 Headphones: Since my iPhone7 doesn't have a headphone jack, it might be time to upgrade. Reviews suggest that the quality is similar to wired phones.
Chromecast Ultra: 4K is the upgrade here, but the internal processor is a little snappier. $69. The original Chromecast is still available at $35. 3 months of HBO free, too!
Lock Pick Practice Set: With a clear padlock. Cool.
HTC Vive VR Headset: Not cheap at $799 but you can really start to see the potential of VR. If not, Google Daydream at $79 (phone not included).
Phillips Hue Connected Lights: Good brand, app controlled home lighting. Get the starter kit.
Star Trek ComBadge: Bluetooth Star Trek TNG badge speakerphone. I am so getting this for Miker.
Eero Wifi: If you're frustrated with the wifi coverage in your house and you've tried the frustrating path of repeaters and extenders, Eero is one of the new mesh wifi devices that seamlessly blend multiple access points and make setup pretty easy (also check out the Nest-like Amplifi and Netgear's Orbi.
NES Classic: Small, classic gaming system. No cartridges, 30 built in games like Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong and Punch-Out. Only $60. It is one of the hardest toys to find this year. Good luck getting one!
Planet Lollipops: An edible, geeky gift. If they taste as good as they look, you'll be in good shape.
Travel USB Wall Charger: Cheap ($11), high powered, dual port wall charger. I keep one in my bag.
Otrio: A great family game that combines tic-tac-toe and Set. 4 players.
Dash Robot: Cool robot for the 12 and under crowd. Some cool games and some programming like activities.
Tungsten Kilo Cube: This is just cool. It's just pure Tungsten. A 1.5" cube that weighs 1kg.
iTank: I'm a huge electric car fan. Why not an electric moped?
Plum: If I were a wine guy, I'm pretty sure I'd have this cool wine gadget.
Star Wars Ice Mold: Darth Vader ice cubes for your Star Wars fan.
WeMo: Smart switches for lighting and other appliances. Can be controlled through Amazon Echo.
Heromods: 3D print a custom action figure of your kid.
The best gift I've ever seen for the 8 year old kid of someone you hate.
EHang184: Ok, if you insist on getting me something, here's what I asked Santa for.

8 年OMG, the crank horn! Pure evil.
Aside from the stars wars ice mold, this was seriously helpful. You should find people to pay you for this post every year! Happy Holidays Ken Corless!
saw the com badge and thought I should get that, saw your list and comment, now I have to get that :-)
