There Should Be A Gradual Move To Sustainable Energy
We cannot abandon an already established source for energy so as to focus entirely on new sustainable resources. There should be a balancing act, if you will, between resources spent on innovating technologies on the existing model and on developing newer sustainable models. For now, I believe a hybrid mixture of complementing systems will suffice in our time and age until we have fully evolved our capacity to rely entirely on renewable sources that will sufficiently meet growing demand.
That being said, I believe we need to look at the problem from an entirely different angle, at the moment we are more focused on the supply value chain, but what about demand?
We should focus more on how the demand for energy grows, and how it’s caused by various factors such as urbanisation, economic growth, population rise etc.
Energy is such a vital need for humanity that Energy companies need to take up a new role as not just service providers but as nation builders as well
Energy companies should work hand in hand with governments in designing policy that directly affects the wellbeing of the countries. By having accurate data on how a certain region will develop over a period of time, energy companies can plan ahead on what solutions to deploy. For example, the energy needs of an urban city for the next five years, will differ from the needs of a rural town for the next five years. Energy coys can then decide to focus on improving experimental renewable sources for the rural while still using fossil fuels to meet the demand of the cities.
