Sourcing is something that I am passionate about, it will test your logic, patience and art of engagement to the maximum possible limit. I would want to believe that sourcing is still evolving and there would be sharper and better tools deployed very soon to make a recruiter reach the needle in a jiffy in an enormously large haystack. Its no longer just getting to the needle in a haystack but getting to the needle first that matters. Do we have a Dijkstra's algorithm in sourcing to find the shortest and quickest way to get to the candidate first ? Do our recruiters consistently innovate and challenge limits to create a masterpiece Boolean string ?
I find a lot of us consider sourcing as a mundane activity , if anything its certainly not mundane. Yes when one starts the process of learning the art of sourcing , he or she would find it "SOUR" ... it will be less rewarding and painstaking in the beginning. You may even end up with sour results! but the more you train and deploy sound logic you will start to see the beauty of sourcing. Its like a great movie that slowing grows on you. I have seen recruiters transform from being sour sourcers to being sourcing evangelist. These recruiters now treasure writing great Boolean strings and keep bettering their search every time they hunt or farm. So in a nutshell while it may be "SOUR" to start with you will "C" in some time that you will find you are lov"ING" it.
Happy recruiting !!
Mino one more positive attitude towards our work and yes your approach.
