Why Coaching Works!

Why Coaching Works!

People are taking advantage of life coaching and the numbers engaged in coaching are rapidly increasing. A 2012 global study conducted by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, an independent services organization, showed that both the number of clients and the number of coaching sessions per client are rising.

It is obvious that people all over the world understand the value of life coaching. Life Coaches are professionals that "coach" an individual in all aspects of their personal life. They are a cross between a mentor and a teacher. Hiring a Life Coach isn't just necessary when your life is out of control. Life coaching is also valuable when life is going well and you need the extra push to live your soul voice and dreams.

People hire a life coach because they want to have positive results in their lives and want a coach to help guide them. Most people have ineffective “road blocks” and may be unsure how to attack them. We’ll explore these blocks and dig into the negative concepts that people carry around that results in being held back. A coach will hold you accountable for accomplishing what you say YOU want to do and will not allow you to make excuses. Having a coach to encourage you, inspire you, and be a voice to embrace the best within you by setting concrete goals. Coaching can help get you where you want to be.

Why it Works

Unlike other forms of self-help or therapy, life coaching offers a new look on basic human needs. Partnership, support and know-how are areas that distinguish life coaching from other therapies. A coach can help people to organize their priorities and decide which direction is most effective. From these sessions, a person will agree on strategies with their coach to create powerful solutions and as a result you will clearly see what direction to take and how to get there. A life coach will effectively act as a sounding board for ideas — much like a brainstorming partner.

However, life coaching is not a miracle cure. A person must be open to the possibility of closing the gap between where they are now and where they want to be. Coaches can help develop the new path. Anyone visiting a coach needs to be open to new ideas and ways of doing things and needs to commit to the process. Life coaching is also not a solution when there are more complex concerns like depression or trauma. These require a specialist treating specific mental health concerns.
