2014-2015 WA Quality System Training update

The Disability Services Commission has engaged NDS to develop and provide training and support to disability service organisations on the enhanced WA Quality System and the National Standards for Disability Services.

As part of this project, NDS is developing resources and information for the sector, and in early 2015 will be delivering a series of information and training sessions in metropolitan and regional areas of WA.

The information sessions will cover:

• changes to the WA quality system and quality evaluation processes; and
• resources and information organisations can use to engage people with disability, their families and carers in discussions about standards and quality services.

In addition, NDS will also offer 'train the trainer' sessions, which will explore:

• the National Standards for Disability Services, how they relate to quality services and what they mean for people working in various roles; and
• Quality Evaluation processes, including gathering evidence on best practice.

For organisations needing additional support after the information and training sessions, the NDS WA Quality Systems Team can provide one-on-one support.
