What's your "A.C.E." in the hole?
The next big project, the next big sale, the next big buy - all create a buzz about themselves that's hard to replicate when the brand, the ad, or the box isn't as exciting as it once was. When things are new, the excitement is tangible. Everyone wants to be part of the new - the next sale, the next model, the next bonus. But the cycle of new innovations or sales when an old cycle finishes may take longer than you want, leaving a void of unfulfilled potential and lackluster production. These peaks and valleys in production are often a direct relationship to the excitement, and the loss of excitement, related to a launch of new products, sales, or brands. To bridge that gap between launches, develop your own personal "A.C.E." to fill that hole. The Active Campaign of Excitement is a strategy to bridge the next big event with the one ending in a way that flattens the peaks and valleys of performance by raising the valleys up! Examples of these campaigns are often simple to create - performance contests, educational drives, email marketing blasts, and other forms of marketing can lift stagnant periods between old and new sales. Often the best approach is to key on specific company or product strength; diving deep into an innovation to maximize the knowledge, and therefore maximize the sales. People need tremendous acknowledgement during these periods - your team is the excitement when the product isn't! Forecasting the needs for an "A.C.E." strategy is the key to their effectiveness. Knowing what the cycle of old to new is, based on sales, product replacement, or seasonality, should allow you to plan the gaps with an Active Campaign of Excitement that keeps momentum rolling when the newness wears off, or the sale is over. Knowing that you will need them, and then planning the "A.C.E." strategies in advance, will provide you with the something exciting happening around you all the time! What other examples of an Active Campaign of Excitement can you create?
