Lesson Learn Recording in Projects
The most important task which often project managers ignore to execute is the RECORDING OF LESSON LEARN. Lesson Learn are the key data which is recorded in the company database of the projects about the mishaps or difficulties which project manager faced during the execution of the project.
However this part is usually not taken care by any part including the management. Even sometimes management is interested only to fill the office record.
Lesson Learn help you organize and avoid key mistakes or issues which any of your project managers faced before. This could be the proactive approach. Many issues or mistakes are often repeated because of non issuance or recording of Lesson Learn. I am quoting some Lesson Learn which I recorded during my recent executed project and are as following.
- Project Managers should take care that vacation and holidays can totally disturb your schedule particularly any product which is required out of region like Europe where Christmas vacation sometimes goes for nearly a month.
- Raise the request for all the data inputs required for existing network connected to network.
- Always check Heavy Equipments transformer completely even the stair is not installed go on top and check for any possible damage as most of the part lies on the top.
- Always physically check the phase sequence at the existing station there is a possibility that R phase shall be in the bottom instead on the top particularly where there are extensions in the middle on the lengthy line which was in transposition
- Make sure that there should be proper coordination between Cable , Terminatin / joints, GIS and Transformer or other equipment manufacture. This can lead to disaster if the data is not matching even it is preferable to have the cable and Cable termination from the same manufacture in order to avoid any ambiguity.
