How Fitness Helps Balance and Finances
Having a well-balanced lifestyle is often stressed upon for entrepreneurs but very rarely does that happen. It is true though – a mind at peace translates to a well-rounded sense of calm and confidence, and that could very well percolate into your financial health as well, helping you balance out not just your personal life but also your professional pursuits. Studies over the years have shown how being healthy helps create a balanced lifestyle and if you take the time to notice, some of the folks who are happy with their financial health do embody that very correlation at its core.
De-stress, not distress
Learning to de-stress can take some time and getting used to but every entrepreneur should know that working for yourself includes a whole set of worries that only you understand, depending on your industry, your place in your career, etc. To be able to see those fears for what they are and not be overtaken by them, de-stressing is essential and encouraged. Take the time to move away from your work, put a hard stop to the day’s professional commitments and enjoy some personal pursuits and pleasures-be that yoga or high-intensity aerobics, a hike or a massage. You will soon see that this time away from your entrepreneurial efforts assists in viewing financial scenarios in new light and might even aid in changing your view point on factors of concern. Many an entrepreneur will swear by the benefits of fitness and exercise in reducing their tension, even if that exercise was just a lap around the pool or a stroll in the community garden. A healthy body and mind go hand in hand and your financial wellness is greatly dependent on just that so out with the distress and in with practicing de-stress.
Confidence booster
Fitness not only boosts your physical activity but also is a channel to a more confident and self-assured you. Ask anybody that has spared a few minutes of their day for some fitness fun and you will immediately observe a correlation between fitness and confidence. And how wonderful if that confidence could also translate into your entrepreneurial focus? You don’t always need the latest technology or software to keep your trust in building and maintaining a solid financial foundation for your enterprise. Sometimes, all it takes is investing in your own self and reaping the rewards of that positive action. As an entrepreneur, presenting yourself confidently to clients and colleagues alike is fundamental to your success. Allow fitness to facilitate that in your life. Choose a form of fitness or a format that best fits your interests and schedule. Beating yourself up over being fit helps nobody. But beating out the negative in your path to fitness speaks volumes.
Mental balance
Much as we talk about fitness being a physical lifestyle choice, a lot is left unsaid about the emotional quotient attached to it. Your body’s physical health affects your mental health and vice versa. Just as you are mentally exhausted when you are physically tired, exercising your body has a direct effect on rejuvenating your brain cells and energizing you emotionally. Imagine the difference in trying to figure out your balance sheet when you are ill and cannot focus. Now imagine trying to work on the same task when you are feeling healthy and invigorated. Keep in mind that a lot of negative emotions creep into your life as an entrepreneur-self-doubt, hesitation, anger, fear, loneliness…the list is endless. But if you are physically fit, mentally healthy and emotionally well then you can turn all that negativity into positivism. Think of the power you have over your financial health when you are in this ideal scenario.
Can this optimum physical and mental health be achieved every day, day after day? Possibly or not – you will only know if you try to find the right combination of de-stressing and confidence building that works for you and results in a balanced, healthy state of mind. Allow this to flow into your entrepreneurship, your finances and your work ethic, and see the magic that pervades your business. You will be the first to experience it!
