One of the most important aspects of a growing company is the quality of resources working for the company. For any small or mid-size organization it is very important to have some unique selling points, one out of which is the assurance of delivering quality work. The only one source of delivering quality work is by hiring the best resources in the market and further train, motivate and utilize them in a way that helps the growth of the company (In terms of headcount, business prospects, revenue) as well as the individual (In terms of technical knowledge, exposure to the latest trends, financial aspects).
In lieu of the same it is important for any organization to grow and enhance the capabilities of the resources internally, by imparting trainings on the required aspects and technologies, but that’s the second step which means grooming and developing the talent already available in the organization internally.
The very first step of having the best resources in the company is by hiring the best talent available. The three factors contributing to this are:-
- A good recruitment team and recruitment strategy
- A very well synchronized system which clears the vision of what we need and what is the long term plan for the utilization of resources hired
- A very well trained interview panel so that they can pick the best of the lot
The end result you can see as the improved quality of hire. This is a vicious circle that does not stop here:-
Personally based on my own experience, getting quality people should not be just one way process where we are always scouting the best resources, the organization with time should groom itself to become a magnet that has the energy to pull the attention and preference of the most eligible people in the market. The company should invest as much as in training and hiring quality, business will follow itself.
Of course you need to have some good work to offer to the people you are hiring initially.. :-)
I feel that the focus of a company that aspires to grow and has a vision of taking the organization to the next level should put efforts in developing itself as a hub of the top talent.

9 年Though I do agree with you , don't you think skill assessments can be a great way to filter and evaluate the candidates before hiring, thereby enhancing the quality of the hire and at the same time removing the subjectivity from the process
