Having a background as a professional racing driver has helped develop me in many areas of my career. These include areas such as public speaking, networking, marketing, financial management, team building, sales, to a competitive nature. From being born I have always been competitive when playing any sport and in school when it comes to grades.
Graduating top of my class and receiving scholarships to a couple major universities, it was an honor but I decided to focus on my racing career and focus 100% on being in Formula 1. I signed with USF1 only to be disappointed with the funds not being raised. I then went on to drive in Indy Lights and then over to drive for BMW Motorsport. It was a crazy career path but has taught me so many valuable lessons in life and business.
While racing, transferring my work ethic and expertise into the workplace has been very beneficial in every aspect. Now that I am working with a start-up called SNAPCARD, this is very exciting and I can relate to the growth and fast paced environment through my racing. The competitive nature and business tenure I have learned in racing, have helped me in so many ways. Not only do I hope with my experience from racing I can help grow SNAPCARD to a billion dollar company but I can help train a new type of sales team that understands and gets what businesses are looking for. It's about understanding the needs of a business, tailoring a solution for them, and developing the relationship that is looking for the interest of others.
Sales is an ever changing game and you have to be able to adapt, mold, and rebound from every situation. Racing is the same way, you make a mistake, learn from it, and perfect it the next lap. Don't hold onto things, let them go and move on. Learn to look for the opportunities and take them, if they don't happen, find a way to make something happen. Ever problem is an opportunity for success. Change your attitude on how you look at things and you will be amazed at just how much your life will change. Live your life always learning and open to change. Life is a journey and thats what makes it exciting and fun!
