Why I think JayZ would be a good employee...
I live and work in Chicago. And if you didn’t know- there is nothing better than ‘summertime Chi.’
It never slows down. So. Many. Activities.
This summer I went to the JayZ concert. (Though some people argue I went to the Beyonce concert, I still argue that I was there for JayZ.)
While there I had an epiphany. JayZ would make a great employee. Here are a few reasons why.
- He hustles. Literally- he came from ‘tha hustle’. You know- wink wink- slanging rocks. I mean- don’t think about the selling of illicit drugs too much- but more- think about the “anything to win attitude” (hopefully we can all acknowledge that 1. People have a past 2. We shouldn’t encourage people to sell drugs)
- He is in the middle of drama- but you don’t hear him throwing any fuel on the fire. Sure- the marriage is rumored to be going south- but that’s all they are- rumors. Yet, do you see him adding to the drama in anyway? Or nah? Employees- newsflash- when you are involved in issues do yourself (and the company) a favor and keep the chatter to minimum. When employee relations issues develop, they always seem to come with the cancer of rumors. The rumors take longer to resolve than the actual issue.
- His lyrics are applicable to my role EVERY day. And they ‘inspire’ me….
- “I keep my enemies close…I give ‘em enough rope…They put themselves in the air…I just kick away the chair.”
- “I got 99 problems but a b**** ain’t one”
- “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business man”
- “Even if they won't let me in Heaven, I raise Hell, 'til it's Heaven”
I dunno- “This is just food for thought, but you gotta do the dishes.” #hova
